The Tigers get 1st Place at the first meet!

The Tigers men's cross country team finished a spectacular race early this morning at Texas Lutheran University today earning 1st place as a team! Some freshman were worked out after there first collegiate 8K (5 mile) race. But everyone did well overall, and were all very happy about our success today. Although a small with only 72 runners total in the men's race, we had 4 of our guys in the Top ten, which is very hard to do, if you know a thing or two about cross country. The women did very well too placing third out of 9 teams, with our number one girl, getting first place blowing away the competition, also our two top guys got 1 and 2. I think the coaches were pleased, but we all know we can improve and do better. Its going to take some more work, but I have faith in our team, that we can rise to the challenge. This week, its back to a rigorous training regimen and back at TLU again this coming weekend. We will improve our times and become this much closer to being SCAC champions! Go Tiger XC!!!

The Eyes of the Tigers: The making of Champions

Cross Country, a sport of endurance, strength, and the will power to never give up. I run for a great team. The Trinity Cross Country team. The roar of the tiger begin early June, when the team began to pounce on the earth. Training every day of the week, putting in the miles, and running together when possible. Although these tigers come from all different places and backgrounds, they our united now as strong team, a team of champions. Our team has the talent, discipline, and mental strength to push through those hard days of 10x400 repeats, 3-1-1 (UCL) workouts, hills repeats and tempo speeds of blistering pace, and long runs of up to 14 miles. We are made even stronger by the quickly developed chemistry and relationships being formed, by going out to eat, seeing movies together, watching Patrick Swayze kick some butt in Road House and just being together like a family. We are the Tigers, the mighty, mighty tigers. We are going to be the SCAC conference champions, the NCAA regional champions, and the NCAA Nationals Champions, no doubt whatsoever. I will continue to update you on our domination throughout the season, and when you have kids when you grow up, you will remember the Tigers of the Cross Country Team of the fall 2009 season, and tell you children and your childrens' children about the greatest team ever at Trinity. A team whose heart, character, leadership, and discipline, overstated all talent and former stereotypes and misperceptions. We are the Tigers, the mighty, mighty Tigers!
